A1 The camera has two terminals: built-in hot shoe and synchro socket. The hot shoe can be used for X attachment of an external flash connector and communication contact. The synchro socket can be used for X attachment.

A2 Yes. You can control intensity up to ±2EV in each 1, 1/2, or 1/3 EV step.
