On 24 June 2003, press conferences were held worldwide to unveil the new system. This has been followed by an unending barrage of requests for material for stories by camera magazines and other media.

The process of examining each of the elements demanded by professional photographers, developing the technologies to make each of them possible, and developing manufacturing processes to implement them, was not all smooth sailing.
