Detect the direction of edges, and apply an LPF (smoothing) in that direction, and an HPL (accentuation) in the edge’s normal direction, to create a smooth image and reduce false colors.

With previous methods of color reproduction, attempting to reproduce a particular color resulted in other colors being affected simultaneously. With the TruePic Ⅲ technology, the color and brightness signals are controlled separately, allowing for detailed color reproductions.
